BeElite Hoops Showcase: Preview
By kirven Lang
Huntsville, Alabama is growing economically as a city and the inaugural BeELITE Hoops Showcase will assist in the growth of what is now known as "Huntsvegas". Founder/Director of BeElite Hoops, Jared Jones has put together an amazing platform for the state of Alabama to transition to hoops as the football season comes to an end.
With teams from three different states, most of the fanfare will come from some of the household names that our state has grown to love and hate.

Paul Bryant (AL) vs Greenville (AL)
- 2020 Jamel King 6'6" SG | Paul Bryant High School is a deep ball threat with unlimited range and can rattle them off in flurries. He's also a sneaky athlete who will catch a defender slipping if he isn't careful.
- 2021 Dawson Sarblah 6'6" SF | Greenville High School has improved his perimeter skills to go along with the athleticism he already possessed. He has a chance to be one of the biggest sleepers in the class with continued development.
- 2020 Jadakiss Anderson 6'4" SG | Greenville High School is a slender wing like King who can also get hot from three. He's not the athlete like King but he has a knack for scoring as he has already had a 45 point game this season.
Columbia (AL) vs Tyner (TN)
- 2020 Geraldo Lane 6'4" G | Columbia High School had a coming out party last year and would like to show everybody why. The skilled, athletic guard reminds me of Duece Bello who went to Baylor out of high school and finished at East Tennessee State.
Lindsay Lane (AL) vs Calhoun (AL)
- 2021 Jerdarrian "JD" Davison 6'2" PG | Calhoun High School is one of the most electrifying players in the entire country. He's averaging around 40 points per game to go along with some viral athletic plays viewers have grown to love and share.
- 2020 Tommy Murr 6'0" PG | Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is the nation's leading scorer via Maxpreps and will be taking his talents to Lipscomb. He's also a fan favorite and has become a regular on Overtime with his flashy play and scoring ability.
Hartselle (AL) vs Pontotoc (MS)
- 2021 Brody Peebles 6'2" G | Hartselle High School has started his junior campaign on fire. He just flat out knows how to play the game like "Billy Hoyle" from White Men Can't Jump. His recruitment has been steady with mid major programs while gaining some interest from high major programs lately.
- Pontotoc returns all five of their starters from last years 29-3 squad that reached the quarterfinals of the Mississippi 4A state tournament.
Sparkman (AL) vs Florence (MS)
- 2022 Tyrese Elliott 6'1" PG | Sparkman High School has several high major offers including Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi St and Ole Miss to go along with an offer from UAB. His mature game, skill set and athleticism adds to tradition of good players to come through the Sparkman program.
- 2022 Calen Lightford 5'9" PG | Sparkman High School shares the back court with Elliot and look to be a tandem for years to come. Lightford really made a name for himself this summer at Super Soph Camp in Atlanta. Lightfor hold has an offer from Mike Davis at Detroit-Mercy.
- 2020 Larry Holmes 6'0" G | Florence High School is tenacious and may be the best defender in attendance. He truly thrives on the defensive and highly efficient offensively.
- 2021 Devin Carter 6'0" G |Florence High School is having a big time junior season averaging 22.1 points through the first 8 games of the season. He's a volume guy from three and can get hot quick.
Mae Jemison (AL) vs Harrison Central (MS)
- 2020 Tony Toney 6'1" G | Mae Jemison High School is a flat out dog! Big time motor and athleticism and loves to compete. He's a sleeper on the recruiting trail but college coaches are beginning to show interest as he abilities are undeniable.
- 2021 Carlous Williams 6'6" F | Harrison Central High School is a grown man physically and athletically. Williams is also rather skilled. LSU and Mississippi St have reportedly offered him during the summer with some other high majors in pursuit.
