Class of 2020 Initial Player Rankings
It might be a little too early to be ranking the class of 2020 but this group of freshman is very talented. Most of the kids listed lead their respective high school teams in either scoring or rebounding while all of them are starters. There is even room to add a few more to the list but we will wait to see how they all pan out in the future before we expand the list too early.
Sidney Lanier frosh Antwan Burnett comes in at the top spot with his high level scoring ability. At 6-foot-4, Burnett can fill up the scoring column in a mild mannered approach. His game isn’t flashy at all but he can score at all three levels and is a double digit rebounder every game. Burnett is also a star on the football field so he has a promising future and reminds us of Auburn QB Jeremy Johnson who is a Montgomery native as well.
Right behind Burnett is 6-foot-6 wing Tyler Lang of LeFlore High School. His upside is crazy along with his skill set, motor and athleticism. He has a mid range pull up that most kids in high school don't even have in their repertoire regardless of class. As his confidence develops, he has a chance to easily be a top 50 kid nationally. Like Burnett, Lang is a double digit rebounder but a good shot blocker as well. Lang already holds offers from Cal State – Northridge and Wichita State as many more will come as time prevails.
Willie Screws mans the third spot and is a similar player to Tyler Lang with his length and motor. He’s highly productive and if he continues to grow, his ceiling will continue to grow as well. High level rebounder, competes every night out and a developing skill set. If Screws can grow to 6-6 and start playing above the rim in the half court set, he's easily a high major small forward.

Zondrick Garrett may have the most potential in the class to go along with his above average athleticism. He plays above the rim whenever he’s around it finishing monster two handed slams. He can finish off lobs, off the bounce and dump offs. Garrett can even stretch the floor at 6-foot-7 with a smooth left handed jumper. It will be interesting to watch his growth and development.
There’s always a good point guard around and we consider Mark Sears the top lead guard in the class right now. He’s grown to 5-foot-11 which was pivotal as his size was a question before. The lefty can get anywhere on the floor with his crafty ball handling skills and high IQ for the game giving him the ability to find open teammates. Sears is easily one of the most productive kids in the class and could be higher but due to size and upside of the previous he sits at five with potential to move up. |

Every player listed has a chance to be a Division-I prospect. The 2019 and 2020 class is special and will continue the excitement of round ball in the state of Alabama.
