How’s The Class of 2018 Doing: Division-I Signees
The class of 2018 wasn’t very strong but got a big boost when Kira Lewis Jr. reclassed up from 2019. He easily took over the top spot as he decided to enroll at Alabama during the fall.
Lewis Jr. entered the starting lineup to start the season and he has really contributed. In the Tide’s first game against Southern University, he finished with 6 points and 7 assists. He then followed that performance as the leading scorer in a tough win over Appalachian St. His stat line for the game was 21 points, while shooting 50% from the field and three. Lewis Jr. is the youngest player on the division-I level at 17 years old but has already led a group of men to two victories.
Myreon Jones is a kid who left Alabama his senior season to prep at Lincoln Academy in Georgia. He signed with Penn St and has debuted as a true freshman in the team’s first two games. Jones has only scored two points in each game but he did manage to log some valuable minutes in both contests.
Diante Wood has yet to play for Alabama as he is recovering from an injury he suffered during high school. He is likely to redshirt.
Jared Sherfield decided to continue his career at Tennessee Tech after and illustrious high school career. He has logged major minutes off the bench for the Golden Eagles. Sherfield hasn’t been able to put up much in the scoring column but he has managed four points in each of the first two games.
Xavier Williams has started his career at Troy with some solid performances for a frosh. In the Trojans first game against Fort Valley State, Williams logged 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks. He also managed to score 9 points and collect 4 rebounds against Pittsburgh during the third game of the season.
Dmitry Ryuny has yet to play a game this year for San Francisco and will more than likely redshirt for the Dons.

Jamari Blackmon has arguably had the most successful college career of anybody in the class, on the division-I level, thus far. He was recently named A-Sun newcomer of the week after dropping 17 points on Samford and 22 points against Blue Mountain. Looks like Blackmon could end up being a 2,000 point scorer for the Lions. Blackmon was definitely a steal.
Theo Akwuba was probably the nation’s leading shot blocker in high school last year and he seems to be a big steal for Portland and head coach Terry Porter. Akwuba only had two division-I offers, North Alabama and Portland. He has been a starter from day 1 and logged 13 points and 7 rebounds in the opener. He looks to have a solid career ahead of him.
Emmanuel Littles also had a decorated high school career with several state championships. He has played a role at North Alabama coming off the bench as a true frosh. Hasn’t put up big numbers yet but he is getting some experience early.

Next to Blackmon, Isaac Chatman is in the running for best frosh campaign. He’s averaging 14.7 points in the first three games of the season as a starter since day 1. He’s also averaging 5.3 rebounds a game and looks to be a big time steal for the once highly recruited wing. Don't expect things to slow down either for Chatman.
Trey Jemison is now listed as a 7-footer for Clemson on their roster. He has yet to play and we believe it is due to injury. Jemison will more than likely redshirt.
Ladarius Knight is also at Campbell with Isaac Chatman but has yet to play a game. He will more than likely redshirt.
Logan Dye has managed to log some significant minutes early on for Samford. He currently averages 3.7 points with a game high of seven in a win over Jacksonville St. Dye is also averaging 4 rebounds a game.
Azariah Seay signed with his hometown program Alabama St and has saw limited action. He’s only played in one of three games and logged 8 minutes. Could end up redshirting for the experienced Hornets.
Sekou Dembélé has yet to play a game this year for Southern Illinois and will more than likely redshirt for the Salukis.
Sean Elmore was is an academic redshirt for North Alabama.
CJ Williamson decided to go to Mercer which has several Alabama guys on it’s roster. He hasn’t played much at all the first two games of the season.
Breck Cuddy was a preferred walk-on for Campbell and has yet to see any game action.
