Isaac Haas Commits To Wake Forest
"So after a long time of thinking and enjoying my visits, I have this gut feeling and heart warming effect" is what Isaac Haas tweeted moments before he gave his commitment to the Demon Deacons. It came as quite a surprise to several spectators because at one point the 7-foot-2 inch center stated that UAB as his early favorite. Obviously the tables had turned a bit during several official visits Haas has recently taken.
Coming into his senior year, Haas rattled off a top five of Purdue, Texas A&M, UAB, Virginia and Wake Forest. Taking four official visits to all but UAB it was kind of a mind boggler to why there wasn't an official visit to UAB, but the in-state school is only an hour away so it was an exceptional reason.
Haas was kind of an unknown coming to the summer, which may be hard to believe being so massive in size. His performance at the NBA Top 100 Camp put him over the top on the national scene and skipping him ahead in several national rankings. During the travel season Haas received over 25 division offers playing with the Alabama Challenge on the EYBL Circuit.
The Hokes Bluff star center was the baron of bad calls during his junior year of high school as referees were not used to calling a game with a kid his size. Now that the refs have a year under their belts, hopefully the big fella will have a fair shot and a stellar senior year to cap off big commitment to the ACC.
