Antonio "TJ" Lang Jr Is A HokieBeing compared to your father is one thing, but when your father starred at Duke and played several years in the NBA comparisons can become competitive. From style of play to statistics and even more subliminal, articles! Unknowingly, several kids whose parents have stardom, may overshadow a kid even in an article written about the kid. For Antonio "TJ" Lang Jr, the comparisons only push him forward as he stated "I like being compared to him because eventually I want people to compare him to me and them say I was a better player." The "him" the younger Lang speaks of his father Antonio Lang Sr, who starred at Leflore High School in Mobile, Alabama, went on to win two national championships at Duke and went on to play several years in the NBA.
Enough about him lets talk about me. Lang Jr has given a verbal commitment to the Virginia Tech Hokies and is pretty stoked about it. Asking him his reason for committing and he told us "The dedication they had to me." Lang Jr also stated that Coach James Johnson was at every game this summer and made it known that he was the first coach in the gym every game. "It meant a lot to me for a head coach to be at all your games." said TJ Lang. The fact that the campus was really nice in addition the team bond they all shared. With a ton of schools on his trail, you would consider that Lang had narrowed down his list before making a commitment but he actually considered every school he listed. Now that the recruiting process is now over, he will focus his efforts more on bringing his team together and work to bring home a state championship. Lang led his McGill-Toolen Yellow Jackets to the Elite Eight before getting snubbed by crosstown basketball rival Blount. The two teams had been labeled as the best two teams in the city and split the series 2-2. Playing alongside two division one prospects in 2015s Dylan Smith and Deion Dozier, Lang and his teammates will have great size as Lang goes 6-foot-6, Smith 6-foot-4 and Dozier at 6-foot-7. Nice size team especially when you factor in Lang's younger brother, Allen Lang, who is a freshman this year and measures at 6-foot-6 also. When that wasn't enough for you, how bout all but Dozier play on the wing. Below is Antonio "TJ" Lang Jr's BAMAMIXTAPE: |
