How’s The Class of 2018 Doing: Division-II & NAIA Signees
Every year, a number of Division-II and NAIA schools get some major steals in Alabama. For the class of 2018, there were about 20 kids in our top 100 that signed with a D2 or NAIA program. Guys such as Kailex Stephens, Dylan Robertson and Joshua Strozier were guys who were definitely worthy of competing on the Division-I level but never received an offer from that level.
Kailex Stephens signed with Francis Marion as assistant coach Brandon Funk put in major work to get the 6-foot-7 wing. It was clearly a major steal as Stephens is averaging 13 points and 5 rebounds in the first two games while shooting 55% from the field, 40% from the three and 100% from the free throw line.
Jayce Willingham decided to take his talents to Lee University after a productive career at Cordova High School. He has only played in one of four games this seasons and it was sparingly.
Joshua Strozier took his talents to Wingate and he has been tearing it up. Coming off the bench, Strozier is averaging 17 points in the first two games of the season while shooting a blistering 77.2% from the field and 66.7% from three. Strozier is making things look easy early on as he is the second leading scorer on the team right now.
Dylan Robertson also decided to attend Wingate with his AAU teammate Strozier. He has logged some major minutes and scored in double figures his first game with several rim rattling dunks. Robertson is averaging 6 points and 6 rebounds in the first two games of the season.

Dalton Dodd was one of the major pick-ups from nearby Alexandria for Alabama-Huntsville. He has played some significant minutes. Dodd hasn’t been big in the scoring column but he must be doing something right to be on the floor.
Justin Allison was one of the top scorers in the state last year and that earned him an offer to Springhill College. He’s playing some solid minutes right now but hasn’t managed to get many shots up.
Calvin Walker, Chase Fiddler and Dillon Harding have yet to play a game this year for Alabama-Huntsville and will more than likely redshirt for the Chargers.
Tomias Brand has yet to play a game this year for West Alabama and will more than likely redshirt for the Tigers.
Logan Foutz decided to stay home and attend University of Mobile. The Rams only have stats registered from one game against Selma University where Foutz finished with 4 points in a blowout win.
Christian Brandt signed with Springhill College and has seen some action this year. He’s scored in both games for a total of 7 points and may actually see a role increase from the looks of it.
Derrick Finklea and Greg Barlow decided to go to Stillman. Finklea is currently on the JV squad while Barlow is an academic redshirt.
