At 6-foot-7 with a college ready physique, most question why Pitts is flying under the radar like he is. [Read Here] Alabama has just put together arguably the best recruiting class ever in the state with the commitment of John Petty last night prior to Mae Jemison's inaugural home game. Petty is the first five star basketball prospect (ESPN #25) to sign with the Crimson Tide since JaMychal Green of St. Jude back in 2008 unless you want to argue Trevor Lacey who was a four star on ESPN but a five star on Rivals. Similar to Petty who is a five star on ESPN but a four star on Rivals. [Read Here] Mississippi State landed a big commitment, literally and figuratively, in 6-foot-9 Garrison Brooks of Auburn High School. It probably didn't come off as a surprise given that his father George Brooks is an assistant coach under Ben Howland. [Read Here] Alabama got the ball rolling with a ripple effect of verbal commitments. Herb Jones and Alex Reese both pledge to the Crimson within hours of each other. [Read Here] Samford got a likely commitment from 1A state champion Kevion Nolan of Sacred Heart Catholic and Memphis gets a big verbal commitment from 6-foot-4 combo guard Jamal Johnson of Spain Park High School. [Read Here] Charleston Southern got a verbal commitment from Daphne High School point guard Deontaye Buskey over the weekend during his official visit. Jon Brown of Helena High School gave North Alabama a huge verbal commitment on Saturday. [Read Here] North Alabama got a pledge from Winfield point guard Payton Stovall Monday night. DeAndre Robinson is a kid who made a name for himself early during his high school career. Alabama A&M was one of the first division-I schools to offer and they got the job done Tuesday night when Robinson verbally committed. [Read Here] There aren't very many people from Fairhope, Alabama that can say they have played division-I basketball but Tevin Brown will be able to. He's from an area that is heavily recruited in football and not too far from the beach. While most of his classmates were hitting the waves and casting their rods during the spring and summer, Brown was on the travel circuit battling for scholarships and getting better along the way. [Read Here] The class of 2019 looks to be a talented class with some size at the top. This class is greatly needed with 2018 not having much to offer at the moment. Athleticism and skill level comes to mind when you think of the kids in this class along with upside of course.
